Postal and email addresses
For privacy reasons, we do not share address lists of computer science students with external parties. Mass mailings to ETH students are handled directly by the ETH administration.
Collaborating with VIS
VIS connects companies with an engaged community of computer science students, tutors, teaching assistants, and alumni. Whether your goal is recruiting, a technical talk, sponsorship, or long-term visibility, we help you find the right format.
Who is VIS?
Computer science at ETH Zurich and the role of VIS
The computer science engineering program at ETH Zurich is unique in Switzerland. Since its introduction in the newly founded Department of Computer Science in 1981, it has combined the demands of a classical engineering degree with a field that is constantly evolving.
Student associations are a defining part of student life at ETH Zurich. Through the umbrella association VSETH, more than 90% of students are also members of their departmental association. In addition to representing student interests, these associations take on many tasks around their departments and organize a wide range of services and activities for their members.

Recruiting
The Kontaktparty is our annual company fair with a focus on computer science. It creates a concentrated setting for personal conversations between companies and students from ETH Zurich and other universities.
Companies benefit from a clearly targeted audience, while students can easily connect with potential employers, internships, or Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis opportunities.
Community & technology
VIScon, short for VIS convention, combines a one-day symposium with a three-day hackathon. This lets you reach students who care about technical depth, innovation, and exchange.
An event of this scale needs financial support. In return, we offer visibility across digital and printed channels, on-site presence, and room for creative partnership ideas.
Become a sponsorWe are looking for motivated companies and individuals who want to contribute experience, technical challenges, or forward-looking topics.
Apply as a speakerDuring the hackathon, you can support participants with know-how from engineering, design, product, or presentation while experiencing the energy of the event firsthand.

Long-term visibility
Since 1984, our publication Visionen has covered VIS topics, study life, student culture, and computer science as a field. It is sent out free of charge six times a year to students, teaching assistants, and professors.
Advertising in Visionen is a strong way to place your brand or offer in an established publication that is closely tied to the degree program.
Direct exchange
Company excursions and lecture series
Students want to get to know as many areas of computer science as possible before making career decisions. Interesting technical talks, relaxed discussion formats, or direct insight into everyday work are especially valuable here.
These formats help spark interest in your company and leave a lasting impression on future professionals. For more information, please contact our company relations contact.

Jobs mailing list and external events
Computer science students who are interested in part-time jobs, full-time roles, or internships subscribe to our moderated channels. This allows you to reach interested students directly with relevant opportunities, without relying on broad and impersonal distribution.
External mailing listsBoundaries and policies
Some requests do not fit our guidelines or fall under ETH responsibility. We make those boundaries explicit so collaboration stays efficient and transparent for both sides.
For privacy reasons, we do not share address lists of computer science students with external parties. Mass mailings to ETH students are handled directly by the ETH administration.
The computer science building at ETH has notice boards and poster walls for information on events and job ads. If you would like to post something, please contact the relevant ETH office directly rather than us. We also do not print or post electronically submitted ads.
If you would like to place brochures or flyers in the computer science building, please contact the student administration office rather than us.
Due to the ETH web policy (BOT article 7.3), we are not allowed to publish advertising banners on our websites. We also do not offer paid links from the VIS homepage.
If you already have a concrete idea or still want to explore which format best fits your goal, feel free to write to us directly.
